About Le Nutcracker
Le Nutcracker Showgirl Spectacular is a Bob Mackie–style fever dream inspired by the storyline of the classical Nutcracker ballet. The party-goers are replaced with raunchy swingers, the rats wear 8-inch boots, and we’ve traded in the Land of Sweets for the Land of the Showgirls. Making its world premiere at The Annex in Vancouver on December 10th, this new holiday tradition brings together extravagant costume design, comedic twists on the classic tale, and a spectacular ensemble of showgirls.

How to Audition
These courses for
Le Nutcracker are designed for experienced, advanced, and pre-professional dancers to flex their showgirl repertoire and perform in a professional-calibre ensemble production. The first day of each course serves as both a class and an audition. To audition, dancers should register for Audition Day / Course Day 1 only.

Following the audition, selected dancers will be invited to complete their registration by purchasing the Course Fee + Production Fee for their role. Production fee will cover costume rental and other production-related costs. Production fees vary based on intricacy of the role’s costume. Dancers who are not selected to perform will be offered the opportunity to continue training in the remainder of the course by purchasing the Course Fee only.

Please do not purchase the Production Fee until casting has been confirmed. Casting results will be sent within 24 hours of Day 1.

About the Snow Queens

Much like in the traditional ballet, the Snow Queens close out the first act during the snow scene. Amongst a flurry of Snow Fairies and Icicles, the Snow Queens stand out like glimmering, icy beacons. Parisian-style showgirl choreography and a lively afro-latin cover of the Waltz of the Snowflakes will make for the most captivating snow scene to close out the first act alongside the Snow Fairies and Icicles in this large Act I finale number.
