Join us in Edmonton for a high-energy, performance-driven Theatre Jazz Masterclass led by Halie Scaletta — director of Vancouver-based dance company The Lolas and choreographer behind the national touring production Stardust: A Diamond Heist Dance Cabaret.

This 2-hour intensive is designed for serious dancers (16+) with a strong jazz foundation who are ready to refine their technique, elevate their performance quality, and step into a more theatrical, storytelling-driven approach to movement.

Rooted in the traditions of theatre jazz and infused with The Lolas’ signature cabaret glamour, this masterclass blends precision, power, and personality. Expect bold musicality, sharp directional changes, grounded strength, and dynamic performance textures that shift from sultry control to explosive showmanship.

Class Structure Includes:

• A full technical warmup focused on alignment, mobility, and strengthening for turns, kicks, and stability
• Targeted conditioning to support cleaner execution and performance endurance
• Across-the-floor progressions emphasizing attack, clarity, and stylistic nuance
• A Theatre Jazz combination that fuses classic Broadway stylings with contemporary cabaret edge
• Individualized feedback and coaching on performance quality, character intention, and stage presence

Recommended Footwear:
Jazz heels (3–4” ballroom style preferred), character heels, or jazz shoes depending on comfort and training level. Kneepads optional.
